Tesla’s latest 2025.20.3 update brings a handful of thoughtful improvements—not flashy, but impactful. Rolling out since June 6, 2025, this update includes new safety tools, camera enhancements, and utility features that improve everyday use.
1. Backup Camera Gets Wider View Button
For HW4 Model Ys, the backup camera now lets you toggle between the standard narrow view and a wider rear camera angle—ideal for tight parking or ferrying kids and groceries.
2. Child Left Alone Detection (Model 3, 2024+)
A critical safety update: if the car detects a child left inside, it will flash exterior lights, play an alert tone, and notify via app repeatedly until the situation is resolved. All processing happens locally—no data leaves your car.
- Enabled by default — can be toggled off via Controls > Safety > Child Left Alone Detection.
3. Unlatch Cable with Door Handle (Model 3/Y)
No supercharger button? No problem. Simply press and hold the rear left door handle for 3 seconds (with car unlocked or key nearby) to stop charging and unlock the cable. This is a continuation of a similar feature introduced in 2025.20.
4. Live Supercharging Activity on iOS
Start a charge and your iPhone or Apple Watch will now display real-time session info—cooldown timers, kW, kWh delivered—via Live Activity. Requires iOS 17.2+ and Tesla App 4.45.0+
5. Security & Service Mode Upgrades
- Security improvements include several behind-the-scenes system patches.
- Service Mode now supports diagnostics for the A2B audio bus, enhancing support for newer Model 3/Y (Ryzen infotainment) tech.
