The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to the board, registration will begin on February 3rd, 2025 and will close on March 5th, 2025.
This announcement was made by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who also revealed that the board has released a full document containing a step-by-step registration guide. All candidates are advised to carefully go through the guide before proceeding with their registration.
The sale of e-PINs, which is required for registration, will end on March 5th, while the actual registration process will close officially on March 8th, 2025.

Age Limit and Mock Trial Testing for Underage Candidates
In a new update, JAMB will introduce a mock-trial test for candidates who are below 16 years of age and therefore ineligible for admission into tertiary institutions. This special trial is aimed at giving gifted but underage candidates an opportunity to test their readiness.
Candidates under 15 years old may still register, but they must score at least 280 in the UTME and also perform excellently in their Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) and post-UTME screenings to be considered for admission.
UTME Registration Costs
JAMB has categorized the registration costs into four different packages based on the candidate’s choice:
- Mock Only Trial Testing (Underage Candidates) – ₦3,500
- Direct Entry Application – ₦5,700
- UTME Without Mock Exam – ₦7,200
- UTME With Mock Exam – ₦8,700
Breakdown of Fees:
- Application Fee – ₦3,500
- Reading Text – ₦1,000
- CBT Centre Registration – ₦700
- UTME Service Charge – ₦1,500
- Mock Exam Service Charge – ₦1,500
- Bank Charges – ₦500
Candidates must clearly choose the type of e-PIN they need during purchase. JAMB stated that no refunds will be made once a PIN is bought.
