How to Turn Off Tesla PIN to Drive (Step by Step Guide)
To turn off Tesla PIN to Drive is as easy as ABC, below is the step by step guide on how you can do it successfully.
- Turn on your car, on the touchscreen display look for car icon at the bottom left corner of the screen. Tap on it to open the main settings menu.
- Once you are in the settings menu, go to the “Safety & Security” section. This is where Tesla stores most of its security-related features.
- Scroll through the Safety & Security options until you see “PIN to Drive.” Tap on it to open the PIN settings.
- Tesla will ask you to enter your existing PIN to access the settings. If you don’t remember your PIN, you’ll need to reset it through the Tesla app or contact Tesla support. You can also click on the forget PIN to reset your PIN using your Tesla login details (email & password).
- After entering the correct PIN, you’ll see the option to disable PIN to Drive. Simply toggle the switch off. Tesla will confirm the change, and the feature will be turned off.

What happens if I forget my Tesla PIN?
If you forget your PIN, don’t worry yourself about it, you can reset it through the Tesla app or by contacting Tesla support if you assistance.
Is it safe to disable PIN to Drive?
If you are living or parking your Tesla in a secure area disabling PIN to Drive may be safe. But I don’t advice that, I always advice people to always leave PIN to Drive on for extra security against car theft, you know anything can happen.

Can I use biometric features instead of a PIN?
Currently, Tesla does not offer biometric alternatives like fingerprints or facial recognition for the PIN to Drive feature. Maybe biometric feature will be added in the future, of course Tesla is always dishing out updates back to back.
