1. Lucid Still Offering $4,000 Trade-In Bonus to Tesla Owners

Lucid Motors is continuing its bold promotion offering Tesla owners up to $4,000 to switch brands. While most competitors have pulled back on similar trade-in programs, Lucid’s offer remains active and appears to be indefinite.

What makes this more interesting is the background tension between Elon Musk and Peter Rawlinson, Lucid’s ex-CEO and former Tesla engineer. Despite Rawlinson stepping down months ago, Lucid’s aggressive targeting suggests the rivalry isn’t cooling off anytime soon.

2. Model Y Helps Tesla Achieve Best May Sales in Australia Since 2023

Tesla sold 3,897 cars in Australia in May 2025, and 3,580 of them were Model Ys — that’s over 90%. Compared to May 2024, that’s a 9.3% increase overall and a 122.5% spike in Model Y sales alone.

Tesla credits the boost to updates made to the Model Y earlier this year, including refreshed styling and improved suspension for a smoother ride.

3. Tesla’s U.S. Battery Strategy Gains Analyst Support

Elon Musk has emphasized reducing reliance on Chinese materials, and it’s paying off. Piper Sandler analyst Alexander Potter says Tesla is currently the only automaker with a fully domestic battery production strategy — a move that could reduce costs, secure supply chains, and position Tesla for long-term leadership in EV manufacturing.

This plays well with growing U.S. government interest in domestically produced clean energy tech.

4. Tesla Drops Fresh Discounts for Model 3 in China Amid Demand Pressure

Tesla is offering new limited-time incentives for the refreshed Model 3 (known as Highland) in China. The move comes amid signs of softening demand and heightened competition from domestic rivals like BYD.

Some analysts believe the promotion is aimed at clearing out older inventory and maintaining Tesla’s market position in the world’s largest EV market.

5. Tesla Quietly Adds ‘Quick Rinse’ Mode in Latest Software Update

A small but useful feature just dropped in Tesla’s latest software update — Quick Rinse mode for car washes.

The mode simplifies the process by temporarily disabling wipers, locking charge ports, and enabling car wash-friendly settings — all in one tap. Tesla owners often visit touchless car washes, and this update makes the process smoother than ever.

6. Tesla Energy Expands in Europe With New Megapack Orders in Germany and France

Tesla’s energy division is growing steadily in Europe. This week, reports from local media indicate new Megapack orders were signed with grid operators in Germany and France.

These battery storage systems are used to stabilize renewable energy supply and reduce blackouts, and they’re becoming a key revenue stream for Tesla beyond its cars.

7. Cybertruck Delivery Wait Times Drop as Production Improves

Some early Cybertruck reservation holders are reporting dramatically shorter delivery timelines, hinting that production is finally stabilizing.

While Tesla hasn’t announced official volume numbers yet, the change aligns with reports of increased manufacturing speed at Giga Texas, where the Cybertruck is built.

8. FSD Beta 12.4 Shows Major Improvements in City Driving Tests

Testers using Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Beta version 12.4 are noticing smoother turns, fewer disengagements, and better handling of urban traffic.

The update includes new neural net weights and longer video training clips, making the car “see” and react more like a human driver. It’s another step forward in Tesla’s march toward a robotaxi future.

9. Tesla Giga Mexico Faces Permit Hurdles, Delays Groundbreaking

Despite announcing its intention to build a massive gigafactory in Mexico, Tesla is still facing delays due to local government permitting and infrastructure readiness.

Sources close to the matter say no official groundbreaking date has been set, even though land clearing began earlier this year.

10. Tesla App Gets Major Update With Smarter Charging Features

Tesla’s mobile app just received a slick new update with a redesigned interface and smarter charging options.

New features include better charging schedules based on peak hours, more direct control of Sentry Mode, and improved UI responsiveness — now rolling out to users worldwide.
