You Want a $60K Cybertruck? Tesla Says You Have Only Days Left

Tesla has officially confirmed that the cheapest Cybertruck will not stay under $60,000 for long. Buyers who want the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Cybertruck at the current $59,990 price now have only a few days left before the cost goes up.

A banner on Tesla’s official Cybertruck order page clearly states that the introductory price will expire on February 28, meaning anyone waiting too long could end up paying significantly more for the same truck.

The announcement shows Tesla is moving quickly to adjust pricing on its newest electric pickup. The low price appears to have been a limited-time offer designed to test how strong demand really was. Now that orders are coming in quickly, Tesla seems confident enough to raise the price sooner rather than later.

The Cheapest Cybertruck Tesla Has Ever Offered

At $59,990, the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Cybertruck has become the most affordable version of the truck since Tesla first launched it. Many buyers see this model as the best value option because it keeps the performance and range that matter most while cutting back on some luxury features.

Despite the lower price, the truck still delivers strong performance. It offers an estimated 325 miles of driving range and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.1 seconds, which is identical to the more expensive Premium version. That combination of speed and range has made the entry-level AWD model especially attractive to buyers who want a capable electric truck without paying close to $80,000.

Tesla achieved the lower price by simplifying certain features rather than reducing capability. The interior uses a durable tactical grey textile material instead of vegan leather, and rear passengers do not get a separate touchscreen. Heated second-row seats are also removed. Underneath the truck, Tesla replaced the adaptive air suspension with a coil spring suspension system that still includes adaptive damping.

Even with these changes, the truck keeps its most important features. Buyers still get the powered tonneau cover and the Powershare bed outlets, which allow the Cybertruck to supply electricity for tools or equipment. These features help maintain the Cybertruck’s identity as a practical work vehicle instead of just a lifestyle truck.

Tesla Signals Demand Is Strong

The delivery schedule provides another clear sign that demand for the cheaper Cybertruck is strong. When Tesla first introduced this version, estimated deliveries were expected between May and June of 2026. Within only a few days, delivery estimates moved back by several months.

New orders are now showing estimated deliveries between September and October 2026, suggesting that thousands of buyers rushed to secure the lower price. The growing wait time shows that interest in a more affordable Cybertruck is far stronger than some critics expected.

The rapid shift in delivery dates suggests Tesla has no plans to cancel this version due to low demand. Instead, the strong order volume appears to be the reason Tesla feels comfortable raising the price.

Tesla Says the Low Price Was Temporary

Tesla made it clear that the sub-$60,000 price was never meant to last forever. CEO Elon Musk previously suggested that the lower price was a limited opportunity designed to measure demand.

The message on the order page confirms that timeline. Tesla states that the “$59,990 price will increase after February 28,” leaving buyers with a short window to lock in the current price.

For customers who have been considering a Cybertruck purchase, this deadline creates pressure to act quickly before the offer disappears.

How Much Could the Price Increase?

Tesla has not yet revealed the exact new price that will take effect after February 28, but there are some clear possibilities based on the current lineup.

The next trim level above the entry AWD model is the Premium version priced at $79,990. This gives Tesla a wide gap where the new price could land. Some analysts believe Tesla may increase the price by around $10,000, which would bring the AWD version close to $69,990. Others believe the increase may be smaller, possibly around $5,000, to keep the model looking like a strong value compared to the Premium trim.

There is also speculation that Tesla could position this AWD model closer to the Premium version while eventually introducing a new rear-wheel-drive model at a lower price point in the future. That approach would allow Tesla to keep an entry-level Cybertruck available while increasing overall profit margins.

Buyers Face a Short Decision Window

The February 28 deadline means buyers have only a short time to decide whether to place an order at the current price. Once the price increase takes effect, new customers will almost certainly pay more even though the truck itself will remain the same.

For many potential buyers, the $59,990 price point is significant because it places the Cybertruck closer to the cost of traditional pickup trucks. A higher price could push some customers to delay their purchase or consider other electric trucks instead.
